Shannon White, LMFT-S
Welcome to Thrive Family Therapy, where understanding and balance meet to foster growth and healing. I'm the heart behind our mission— a dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an AAMFT Clinical Fellow, Approved Supervisor, and, equally important, a wife and mother.
Juggling these roles has taught me the intricate dance of life's balance and the complexities that come with it. This personal and professional experience shapes my empathetic, tailored approach to therapy, ensuring that each client's journey is met with understanding and care.
Life is a unique journey for each of us, filled with aspirations for joy and fulfillment. Yet, sometimes, our paths take unexpected turns, leading us away from our desired destinations. If you find yourself at such a crossroad, feeling overwhelmed by challenges such as anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, I'm here to extend a supportive hand. You've taken a brave step by considering therapy, and I'm genuinely glad you're here.
At Thrive Family Therapy, we believe in the power of recognizing and building upon your strengths, offering new perspectives to foster a healthier outlook on life. Our collaborative journey will involve exploring your specific struggles and their roots, developing strategies that resonate with your individual needs and aspirations.
My approach is deeply influenced by systemic thinking, acknowledging the uniqueness of every individual. To support this personalized therapy, I've enriched my practice with post-graduate specialty training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an externship in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and extensive experience in Jungian play therapy and sand tray therapy. As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, I also guide intern and associate level LPC and MFTs towards their professional growth.
Beyond these modalities, I have achieved Level 3 training in the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy and am certified to facilitate as a Seven Principles Leader. My commitment to inclusivity and understanding extends through my membership in the LGBTQ-Affirmative Psychotherapy Guild of Utah.
Your path to rediscovering joy and success is a journey we'll navigate together. With a blend of professional expertise and compassionate care, let's embark on this journey to heal, grow, and thrive.
